WhatsApp Will Soon Let Users React to Calls with Any Emoji: Report
WhatsApp has been consistently working on bringing new features to enhance its voice and video call experience. Now, the meta-owned instant messaging app is working on a feature which will let users react to voice and video calls with any emoji. Currently, this feature is under development and is expected to be part of an upcoming update.
According to wabetainfo, WhatsApp plans to expand the emoji reaction feature beyond the existing six default emojis. This expansion will enable users to select from a broader range of emojis, allowing for more personalised and accurate expressions during calls.

Enhanced Emoji Options
The upcoming feature will grant users access to the entire emoji library while on a call. Users can browse through various categories, including smileys, gestures, animals, and objects. Additionally, there will be a section for recently used reactions, making it easier for users to quickly find and reuse emojis they have previously selected.
This enhancement aims to make reacting more efficient, especially in fast-paced conversations where timing is crucial. By offering a wider selection of emojis, users can better convey their mood or message in real-time.
In an earlier beta update, WhatsApp had introduced the ability to react with one of six default emojis during calls. However, this feature was only available to a limited number of beta testers and has not yet been rolled out widely. It appears that WhatsApp may be holding off on a broader release until the custom emoji reaction feature is ready.
The same report indicates that the ability to react with any emoji during voice and video calls is still under development. This suggests that WhatsApp is working towards providing users with more flexibility in expressing themselves during calls.
This new feature aligns with WhatsApp's ongoing efforts to improve its voice and video call functionalities. By allowing users to choose from a full range of emojis, the app enhances personal expression and communication dynamics during calls.
As WhatsApp continues refining its features, users can look forward to more updates that aim to enrich their messaging experience. The introduction of custom emoji reactions represents another step towards making interactions on the platform more engaging and personalised.
