WhatsApp Gets Instagram-inspired Status Reaction Feature
WhatsApp, the meta-owned instant messaging app now allows users to like status. This addition aims to enhance user interaction and engagement on the platform.
Previously, WhatsApp users could only view and reply to status updates. With the new feature, they can now express their appreciation by liking statuses, similar to other social media platforms.

WhatsApp Now Allows To Like Status/Story
This update is expected to make WhatsApp more interactive, allowing users to share their reactions to status without needing to send a message. This change aligns WhatsApp with other popular social media apps that already offer similar features. It's also worth mentioning the 'like' reaction emoji on WhatsApp comes in green colour, unlike the red colour on the other platforms.
The ability to like statuses is part of WhatsApp's ongoing efforts to improve user experience. By adding this feature, WhatsApp hopes to keep users engaged and encourage them to share more updates.
To like a status, users simply need to tap the heart icon that appears at the bottom of the screen when viewing a status update. The person who posted the status will receive a notification indicating that someone liked their update.
This feature is available for both iOS and Android devices. However, it is yet to be rolled out for the web version. WhatsApp has ensured that privacy remains a priority with this new feature. Users can still control who sees their status updates through the app's privacy settings. Additionally, likes are not publicly visible; only the person who posted the status can see who liked it.
Moreover, the instant messaging app is also working on a new feature which will allow users to choose the Meta AI voice. However, it's still under development and expected to be rolled out in the future update.
