YouTube App May Get Sleep Timer Feature: Report
YouTube is reportedly working on a sleep timer feature for its Android app, similar to the one already available in the YouTube Music app. The feature was discovered during an APK teardown of a beta version of the YouTube app for Android.
According to a report by Android Authority, in collaboration with tipster AssembleDebug, the sleep timer feature would enable users to set a specific duration for video playback before it automatically stops. Users may be able to specify hours and minutes until video playback stops, and it could also appear as a notification. One possible dialog option reads, "You can reset the timer or click done to keep watching."

It remains to be seen if YouTube's sleep timer will function similarly to the YouTube Music app. In the YouTube Music app, the sleep timer appears in the Now Playing menu at the bottom and automatically stops playback after the specified time.
While there is no official confirmation from YouTube regarding the sleep timer feature for its Android app, its discovery during an APK teardown suggests that it could be introduced in a future update.
In addition to developing a sleep timer feature, YouTube is testing a new feature named ''Notes'' that will allow users to add notes below videos. Moreover, it is reportedly testing another method to disrupt ad blockers by injecting server-side ads.
