The YouTube Premium subscription offers a variety of benefits such as ad-free viewing, background play, and on-demand music streaming. One remarkable advantage is early access to certain developing features.
The YouTube team is presently developing in-app mobile games known as 'Playables' to boost user engagement. This feature is now accessible to all YouTube Premium subscribers for a limited period.

YouTube Playables: Everything you Need to Know!
YouTube Playables is a dedicated section offering mobile games that can be played without any download or installation. The aim is to keep users engaged on the platform when they are not in the mood to watch videos. To play YouTube Playables games, you must be a Premium subscriber.
Afterwards, you should visit the YouTube experimental feature page and select the 'Try it out' button next to the Playables feature. This feature is available on Android, iOS, and the website until March 28.
Once enabled, you can visit the YouTube Playables page on desktop to browse instant mobile games. The games accessible are divided into two sections- 'Home' and 'Browse,' with the former featuring popular titles and the latter providing a comprehensive list of games.
Some popular games include Angry Birds Showdown, Brain Out, State.io, and Color Burst. These games span various genres like puzzle, sports, arcade, RPG & strategy, Action, and Board.
YouTube's Strategy to Boost Premium Subscriptions
In other developments, YouTube is actively combating ad blockers to convince users to become Premium subscribers. The company has started halting video playback for users who have an ad blocker activated.
YouTube asserts that users either need to disable ad blockers or opt for a premium subscription to continue watching videos. It has also recently been confirmed to slow down video playback for users with ad blockers.
Future of YouTube Playables
While the future of the Playables feature depends on the response during its experimental release, it is a unique initiative by YouTube to enhance user engagement.
If successful, YouTube may decide to roll it out for all users. However, only time will tell the fate of this feature. In the meantime, YouTube continues its battle against ad blockers, trying to convince users to upgrade to the ad-free premium subscription.
