You Can Now Use Only 5 Hashtags on Instagram Posts and Reels
Instagram is capping how many hashtags users can attach to content as the platform recalibrates discovery. The Meta-owned platform will now allow up to five hashtags in Reels or feed posts. Instagram links this change to efforts to streamline how posts are surfaced. The company took its official handle to make the announcement.
Instagram also noted that using fewer, more targeted hashtags – rather than stuffing captions with generic or irrelevant ones – can help improve content performance and enhance the overall user experience on Instagram.

Instagram's New Hashtags Limit
The new Instagram hashtag limit encourages focused tagging instead of long generic lists. Following the five-tag guidance with relevant keywords aligns posts with Instagram's current advice and may help maintain a cleaner, more useful browsing experience for viewers.
The social media giant says if you are a beauty creator, just use beauty-related hashtags to help people interested in beauty content find you. Using #reels #explore can't help your content appear in places like Explore. So, whether you're posting Reels or regular posts, make sure to use only relevant hashtags, as they help your content reach the right audience who are genuinely interested in it.
In the same, the social media platform recently announced Instagram for TV, letting users watch Reels on the big screen. The feature is currently in the testing phase, and the app is available in the US on Amazon Fire TV devices. Even Instagram for TV has the same safeguards available on the mobile app for teens.
