Canon has recently launched six new camera models in a press release held in Yokohama. The Japan’s camera major has included Wi-Fi in all their new models including LEGRIA camcorder HFR series. This is a very welcome addition to their cameras and this will let users post pictures and videos directly to social networking sites and also share them very easily. All these models where launched in the Camera and Photo imaging show which was held at Yokohama.
The camera manufacturers are getting stiff competition from smart phones and tablets which have an integrated camera. The inbuilt cameras in these multipurpose devices are getting better day by day. They also have the added advantage of having net connectivity that lets users to share these pictures seamlessly.
The presence of 3G connectivity in these devices gives these compact devices a serious edge over the cameras. To make the odds even Canon included Wi-Fi connectivity in their cameras so that users can get access to net from a Wi-Fi hot spot for all their imaging needs. This is very happy news for all those photo buffs who want to upload their photos and videos to online streaming sites and social networking sites very quickly.
The newly launched models include Ixus 240 HS, 510 HS and in the LEGRIA series M 56, M 52 and HFR 38. Mr. Atul Bharadwaj who is the Senior Vice president for Canon in India said on the occasion that, the new series offer very fantastic video recording capability and that too with a light weight compact construction.
These cameras feature many cutting edge video recording and image shooting features too. This makes it an apt choice for the budding photographer as well as for professionals. Considering the Canon legacy there won’t be any doubt about the image quality offered by Canon. These new series cameras carry on that legacy and allow the user to take some very amazing and beautiful shots.
Canon is also eyeing the DSLR camera segment in India. According to the company officials this segment is getting a very high growth rate and in the coming years it is said to achieve sales figures somewhat close to the compact camera segment. Even when the price difference between these two devices are gigantic and as much as Rs.25,000 /- many people nowadays tend to prefer them for their superior image quality and functionality.
