Coolpix S800c: Nikon Android Powered Camera Launched at Rs 20,950
Nikon has announced the availability of its Android Coolpix S800c camera in the Indian market. The device is available at a price tag of Rs.20,950. The long wait finally came to an end for Indian customers who were waiting to get hands-on experience with the first ever Android camera in the world.
The new camera has been designed for individuals who are looking for a compact camera for taking stunning images and videos and for sharing the same with their friends and family at one go. Android powered Coolpix S800c Camera will certainly attract such social savvy consumers.
As per Nikon the new Android camera will deliver a combination of superior image quality and communication and app functionalities of a tablet or smartphone. Users will be able to capture images and view them over a 3.5 inched WVGA OLED touch screen.
The software being used is Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. Many Nikon fans would have expected the company to have included ICS or Jelly Bean in place of Gingerbread operating system. The competition is set to tighten in the new Android camera segment in India with Samsung all set to launch a Jelly Bean powered Android camera during the Diwali season.
Smoother connectivity is ensured with features such as Bluetooth, USB and Wi-Fi connectivity promising high speed data transfer and wireless connection. Images can be uploaded directly to the Cloud storage using ‘My Picture Town’ app from Nikon.
Users can also download the apps from Google Play Store using this Android camera. Other key features present in the device include the 16 Mega Pixels BSI CMOS sensor and 10x optical zoom lens. The Android camera from Nikon also has a total of 18 filter effects.
