DJI Osmo Handheld 4K Camera with Three Axis Image Stabilisation launched at Rs 69,990
DJI is a Chinese brand that it's merely popular for its Phantom Series of aerial drones. Now the company has taken its camera technology used in the drones to build a new handheld camera. Apparently the recently launched DJI Osmo is the company's first fully stabilized 4K camera.
The DJI Osmo handheld camera consist of mainly two parts - the handle and the detachable camera along with gimbal. The handle of the company's first 4K camera comes with a rubberised finish and all the buttons required to control the camera can be easily reached by the thumb.

The camera control buttons include a flattened joystick which can be used to rotating the camera around, a shutter button for clicking shots as well as a button to start video recording. The power button on the other hands sits flush on the side.
DJI will be selling optional accessories like an extension arm for the handle, an universal mount for using DJI's Zenmuse X5 cameras, Bike mount and Tripod. The DJI Osmo is mainly targeted at cinematographers and content creators who wants to shoot on the go without carrying separate luggage for the camera.
It is however not suitable for those who are looking for a cheaper alternative of the Go Pro or the Xiao Yi camera. Apparently the DJI Osmo doesn't comes with a waterproof coating thereby unchecking the primary criteria of an action camera.
The handheld 4K camera uses the DJI's Zenmuse X3 camera which features a 12MP Sony Exymor RS CMOS sensor. The camera is capable of shooting RAW images, Time-lapse Videos, Burst Mode and 360 degree panoramas.

Furthermore it can record 4K videos at 30fps unlike many other out there which are limited to just 25fps. There is also smartphone mount which can be used to mount a smartphone with the camera and connect it via WiFi. However you would be required to download the DJI Go App to shoot directly via your smartphone.
The DJI Osmo comes with a 3 Axis Image Stabilisation and also has a slot for adding a MicroSD card on the camera head (upto 64GB). The handheld 4K camera will go on sale via retail stores in 10 major cities in the country at a price of Rs 69,990. Additionally the DJI Osmo 4K camera can also be bought directly from their authorized distributor - SSTPL.
