GoPro to unveil its new Hero 6 Black action camera on September 28: Live stream and more
GoPro Hero 6 Black will be able to shoot 4K footage at up to 60 frames per second, and 1080p footage at up to 240 fps.
If you are an avid GoPro fan then there is some good news for you. Well the U.S. based company has just announced today that it is hosting a launch event on September 28th, in San Francisco, California. CEO Nick Woodman will be present and the event will start at 9 AM PT.
While the company did not make it clear what product it was going to launch, it has been suggested that the company will unveil the new Hero 6 Black camera. GoPros are known to be the best action cameras available in the market and they do deliver very high-quality videos. The latest offering or the flagship camera from the company is the Hero 5 Black. However, it looks like the new camera will soon take its place.
As of now little is known about the upcoming Hero 6 Black, but reports suggest the design will be similar to that of Hero 5 Black. Basically, GoPro's new camera will carry over the Hero 5 Black's design like being waterproof up to 33 feet out of the box and more.
But most of the changes will be found under the hood. The major one though as reported by The Verge will be in the shooting capabilities. The camera will now be able to shoot 4K footage at 60 frames per second, which professional users have been asking for a long time. The camera will also shoot 1080p footage at 240 frames per second meaning it can capture slow-motion footage that is 10 times slower than real time.
Apart from these, the upcoming Hero 6 Black will reportedly be much faster, offer better transfer speeds, and feature enhanced digital image stabilization and low-light performance. Hero 6 Blac will be featuring an all-new in-house chip known as GP1.
Hero 6 could go on sale that same day and will probably come with a price tag of $499 (approximately Rs. 32,624) GoPro might also announce its plans to expand the rollout of Fusion, its consumer 360-degree camera as well as updates to the Karma drone. The products are also likely to be part of this event.
Besides, the company will be live-streaming the event and you can watch it here or bookmark the page.
