vivo Ignites Smartphone Photography Passion in India with Second Edition of "Imagine" Awards

vivo India announced the launch of the second edition of the vivo Imagine Smartphone Photography Awards, designed to encourage photographers across India to explore their creative potential.
This year, the awards will be led by acclaimed writer and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, who will chair a distinguished jury panel, including prominent photographers Vineet Vohra, Rakesh Pulapa, and Aamir Wani.

Celebrating Creativity Across Six Categories

The vivo Imagine Smartphone Photography Awards are divided into six distinct categories: Nature & Wildlife, Architecture, Portraits, Night & Light, Motion, and Street Photography. These categories are intended to push participants to explore different aspects of smartphone photography, showcasing their unique perspectives and storytelling abilities.

Photographers from all over India are invited to submit their entries through the official vivo website by September 8, 2024. From these submissions, the jury will select 30 finalists who will have the opportunity to participate in a final challenge. This challenge will allow them to further demonstrate their skills and creativity, with the top 30 finalists receiving guidance through photography masterclasses led by the jury members.

Prizes and Recognition

The grand prize winner of the vivo Imagine Smartphone Photography Awards will receive a cash prize of INR 5 lakhs. Additionally, each of the six category winners will be awarded a vivo X100 Pro smartphone at the grand finale event, which is set to take place in Mumbai.

Geetaj Channana, Head of Corporate Strategy at vivo India, expressed excitement about the second edition of the awards, emphasizing the theme of 'Joy of Imagination.' He noted that the awards offer a platform not only for recognition but also for the participants to refine their skills and push the boundaries of smartphone photography.

Zoya Akhtar, chair of the jury panel, shared her enthusiasm for the initiative, highlighting the importance of visual storytelling and the role of the awards in discovering and celebrating unique photographers across India.

How to Participate

To participate in the vivo Imagine Smartphone Photography Awards, photographers can submit their entries through the official vivo website (vivoimagine.com) starting August 19, 2024. Participants must provide basic details, select their desired category, and upload their images. The entry submission window will close on September 8, 2024.

After the submission period, the jury will review all entries and select 30 finalists, who will then face a final challenge. The top 6 finalists will be invited to the Grand Finale event in Mumbai, where the grand prize and category winners will be announced.
