Nikon brings in D4, a professional DSLR camera
The photographers have been waiting for Nikon to launch a successor for their flag ship model D3. Finally it has happened, Nikon very recently announced Nikon D4 which is a professional level DSLR camera.
The camera carries on the legacy of its predecessors offering some fantastic specifications. The whole body of the camera is constructed with magnesium alloy. This makes the camera sufficiently light weight as well as durable. The CMOS sensor with 16.1 mega pixel resolution is having FX format drives this camera.
The camera offers support for an ISO range from 100-12,800 (possible expansion up to 50-204,800). The device has a 91,000 pixel 3D matrix metering system. The camera can take pictures at an amazing rate of 10 frames per second with full auto focus and up to 11 frames per second with auto focus locked. The video recording capability is obviously at a high resolution and can take 1080p videos without any problem. Once you have done all the shooting, the contents can be saved on to a CF or XQD type memory card. This gives you more than enough memory space for all the videos and pictures.
Professional photographer Joe Mcnally got a chance to test one of the pre production models of Nikon D4. On his blog he has described in detail the experience he had and the benefits of this device. He said that he was very much impressed by the file details, responsiveness, video quality and other features.
He even says that the camera can work well even after being dropped from a significant height. He also points out at the clarity of the LCD screen. The specifications and the features of the device are awesome.
Nikon D4 comes with a price tag of about Rs 3,00,000/- in India. This is a big amount of money to be spent on an imaging device and is as much as a family car. But there is no point in comparing the price tag to anything, if you are looking for the ultimate imaging device that you can get your hands on, then this is it. Once you have this amazing device then the whole visual perspective of the world around you changes.
