As the Android OS is the market dominator with a share of over 72.4% in Q3 2012, several devices including cameras, microwave ovens and more have started incorporating the OS in order to enhance the user experience. OS: On the OS front, the Galaxy Camera is based on the Google Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, hence, it comes packed with new features such as Project Butter for responsive and smoother performance, improved Android Beam, expandable and contractible notifications and more.
Camera: Galaxy Camera packs device sports a 16MP with 21x optical zoom and BSI CMOS sensor for improved low light imaging.
Memory: On the storage front, Galaxy Camera has 8GB internal memory and a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory.
Connectivity: It comes packed with connectivity features including 3G and Wi-Fi.
Battery: Galaxy Camera is powered by a 1,650 mAh Li-ion battery delivering up to 280 hours talk time.
The addition of Android OS in the camera technology has brought a few necessary features to the point-and-shoot cameras allowing users to download mobile apps from the Google Play store and share images over cellular networks by tethering to a nearby smartphone or tablet.
