Sony launches 9 new Cyber-shots camera models

Sony has launched nine new Cyber-shots. With this launch, Sony has expanded the Cyber-shot experience thereby providing new choice for its customers. Taking in to context its performance and cost, the revamp in the H, W, and S series is a definite boost to the SonyCyber shot profile. 

The slew of ranges introduced by Sony boasts of new and flexible features. This expansion in its portfolio comes with the introduction of the DSC models like WX150, W690, W630, WX50, W620 and W610 in W-series. The H-series includes H90, HX20V,HX10V and HX200V. The S-series include the new Cyber-shot camera S5000. 

There are various hi-zoom series (W series) models to choose from. The extra sleekness and the reduced body thickness of the camera are the highlights of the W690 and WX150 models. They have been developed with the Advanced Aspherical (AA) lens to reduce the thickness to 17.5mm. Better optical performance for image quality has been assured. 

The price range of the W series ranges between Rs 6,500/- and Rs 15,000/-. The W690 model is slated to hit the shelves in May and the WX150 will be made available by the end of April. The other models have already arrived in the market. 

The starting price of the new Sony Cyber shots in the H series is Rs 14,000/- and it goes up to Rs 28,000/-. The new DSC-H90 comes with a 16.1 megapixel CCD sensor and an improved Auto mode that can recognize up to 33 scenes. For creating custom-styled photos and video four “Picture Effect” options has been implemented. This can be considered as an added feature in the DSC-H90. Moreover the 16x optical zoom lens and the 360 Degrees Sweep Panorama is capable of capturing images from wide ranges. 

While Sony’s DSC-HX10V features a 16x optical zoom lens the Cyber-Shot DSC-HX20V has a 20x optical zoom. Cyber-Shot DSC-HX10V, HX20V and HX200V sport an “Exmor R” CMOS sensor of 18.2 MP. i-Auto shooting mode and an Optical Steady Shot enhances the HX10V. The HX200V will spot a 30x optical zoom. 

In addition to the new Sony Cyber-shot models in the W series and the H series Sony has also announced the launch of the DSC-S5000. This camera comes in various colours including black, silver and pink. DSC-S5000 is priced at around Rs 5,500/-. 

This new range of Sony Cyber-shot can be availed at a price range of Rs 5,500/- to Rs 28,000/- from the various Sony centers, consumer electronic stores, photo channel outlets, and leading retailers in the country.
