New Acer Aspire 5755G Review
The reason behind Acer Aspire 5755G's power is the quad core Intel Core i7-2630QM processor with a clock speed of 2 GHz. An 8 GB RAM makes it an excellent performer with quick accesses and faster responses from applications. The new laptop is beefcake and can withstand a few hard falls. Just because it is a bit durable doesn't mean that it'd be okay with rough handling. You don't want to lose this performer.
Acer Aspire 5755G is 2.5 kg and it may not be so comfortably portable because of its bulk. But it can get into most backpacks. One look at its screen and you would find it a bit difficult to take your eyes off of it. The 15.6 inch screen offers 1366 x 768 pixels resolution. A screen supporting 1080p resolution is way better, but this one has its own advantages. The HDMI port in the display lets you execute high definition videos in HD TVs by connecting with it. The keyboard is quite decent and of good size. Certain keys are slightly round in shape and they are adequately spaced. The keyboard offers smooth and comfortable typing experience even if you are doing it very fast.
It would have looked awesome if the keyboard was backlit. Sadly it is not. So typing in a dark environment will be very hard. The trackpad is smooth and all but not pleasingly big. If you use it a lot, you would feel that a bigger trackpad would have been much comfortable. But still your multi touch inputs, like scrolling with 2 fingers, in the trackpad will be recognized. The buttons are combined to form a big button which is surprisingly comfy. Although it offers great performance even if quite a few processes are multi tasked, Aspire 5755G will not be that smooth if you push it too far, like trying to edit HD videos with all effects turned on and certain processes being executed simultaneously.
You may also overclock the processor using a certain turbo boost function to 2.9 GHz clock speed, but mind you that it's going to affect the processor's lifespan. Acer claims that Aspire 5755G will be active and charged for about 4.5 hours but many tests by critics proved it different with a lower efficiency for the battery.
Acer Aspire 5755G Core i5 model has price in India at Rs 44,000/- approximately and Rs 33,000/- price in India for i3 model.
