Android tablets are everywhere now. The Tablets which run in Android and Windows platforms are present. Users who stick to Windows are many. To attract Windows Tablet users move on to Android tablets, Acer devised a strategy. Acer put forward such an idea a few months ago in May and announced that they will be giving rise to such a tablet soon. The new Tablet is known as Acer Iconia A501, an enhanced and nifty successor of the A500 version.

Supposedly the 10.1 inch LCD touchscreen display, which is capacitive of course, of Acer Iconia A501 will have the same 800 x 1280 pixel screen size like the A500. But sources say that unlike the A500, A501 will definitely be 3G compatible and will support 2G GSM networks of 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 frequencies. It's said to have a weight of 730 grams. Apparently A501 runs on the same Tegra 2 Dual Core 1 GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor by NVIDIA like its predecessor and will have a DDR2 RAM of 1 GB size and a GPU by NVIDIA as well; not extensible.

The new tablet pc will have gyro sensor and will have a smooth Acer user Interface. Auto rotate accelerometer is sure to be included as well. Like other tablets, this new tablet pc can also be connected to external sound speakers to amplify the sound output and quality with its 3.5 mm audio jack. The card slot will be of MicroSD and can be upgraded to up to 32 GB. There is also 802.11 b/g/n WiFi connectivity and an improved A2DP version Bluetooth and 2.0 version ordinary and micro USB ports for convenient and comfortable data sharing. The front camera will be of 5 Megapixels with auto focus and LED flash technologies and the rear will be of 2 Megapixels in this new tablet pc as per the details from reliable sources.

Acer Iconia A501 runs in Android 3.2 Honeycomb version and is open to an extremely huge array of applications compatible with the Android. The HTML browser is ordinary but not half bad. Acer has included a lot of its own general applications such as games, social networking access and manager apps and more. The java platform software will allow easy access to Google talk, gmail, Youtube, Picasa softwares. HDMI port will favour HD video compatibility. Document viewer apps will help with document files and Adobe Flash player built in app will facilitate viewing web pages without distractions.

Acer Iconia A501 works fine thanks to the Li Po ion battery of 3250 mAh offering efficient talk time and standby time battery backups. The media players are fantastic and easy to operate supporting audio formats like Mp3, wav, wma, eaac formats and video formats like XviD and high definition ones like H.264/H.263. SMS, Push mails/Email, etc are supported as well.

Acer Iconia A501 has a price in India of around Rs 30000/- and is worth that much absolutely.
