Archos new G9 series tablet
Archos has recently announced a new series of tablets in the G10 line up. These new tablets will be powered by Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. They would come with some very good specs and will be packed with all the needed features.
Archos has brought many user friendly Android tablets in the past. The company is noted for their budget friendly range of tablets. All being under the budget price range these tablets offer features that are on par with other high end tablets.
The new G9 series of tablets are aimed at taking over the Asus Transformer crowd, because these tablets too come with an ultra thin keyboard dock like the Transformer. The presence of a detachable keyboard in a tablet is very much useful because it enables you to type out large documents without much hassle.
To use a touch screen alone for typing is not very plausible since it is very stressful and will take up most of your time. To provide a fixed keyboard too is not a good solution because it is contradictory to the very basic design philosophy of a tablet as it would add to the overall size and weight. So a detachable ultra thin keyboard is ideal.
The screen sizes of the new tablets are not known as for now. If we consider the old G9 series it consists of tablets having 8 inch and 10 inch screen sizes. But it seems like the new series would come with 10 inch tablets so that a sufficient sized keyboard dock can be provided along with it.
A teaser video of the tablet has been launched by Asus and it shows a very thin and compact tablet in whole white colour scheme. The keyboard too is very thin and is white in colour too. There is no word on the processor used in these tablets but we can expect it to come out with some powerful multi core processors. In the G10 series we might be possibly seeing Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processors.
There is no word on the price tags of the tablets in G10 series and the company officials are keeping a mum on the same. If the devices are competitively priced then it would pose serious challenge for other budget tablets in the market. The release date is also not known as of now.
