Asus announces availability of Zenbooks

Asus recently announced two new ultrabooks that will come under the Zenbook series. These new ultrabooks will be powered by the latest Intel processors and will sport some very cutting edge technology in them.

The two new models are termed as Asus Zenbook UX21A and Asus Zenbook UX31A. They would vary in their screen sizes and some of the specs. The most amazing fact of these devices is there size. They have super compact and light weight design. This makes them the perfect device to carry around with you during daily commutation or during long trips. The ultrabooks follows a tapered design.

This creates a very thin profile for the front portion. But no matter how thin it is the device is very sturdy and the materials used for construction have very good durability. The devices come in two tone colour schemes with the top cover in black colour. The base has silver colour finishing. The ports are provided on the sides towards the rear side since the front side is too thin to accommodate them.

UX21A will have an 11.6 inch screen where as the UX31A will have a 13.3 inch screen. Both the screen sizes will feature IPS LCD technology and will give the user full HD resolution i.e. 1920 x 1080 pixels. It will be a pleasure in watching video clips and pictures in this full HD resolution screen. But of course these high end screens would result in a higher retailing cost.

So if you want an ultrabook and if you budget is tight then you better opt for the vanilla LCD screen. But definitely then you will have to make compromise on the screen resolution. The 13.3 inch screen would then have screen resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels and the 11.6 inch version will have resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The brightness also will be downgraded by 300 nits.

Coming to the processors the user can choose from within the latest i series processors. That is from among the i3-3217U, i5-3317U and the i7-3517 processors. All of them are dual core processors that support HyperThreading. They would vary in their clock speeds and the top end models will have Turbo Boost capability. The ultrabooks will be equipped with 256 GB SSD and incorporates DDR3L RAM of 2GB or 4GB according to the users need. They will have all the necessary connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB etc.

Asus Zenbook UX21A will come with a price tag of around Rs. 52,500/- and the UX31A will be priced at around Rs. 55,000/-.
