Asus expected to bring Google Nexus Tablet
Google’s Nexus line up of android smart phones is very popular and has a very good sales figure. These phones are made by Google in association with handpicked hardware companies. With the success of their smart phone range there were rumors that Google is coming up with a new tablet in the nexus range. These rumors have been coming for so long but lately the speculations are getting more and more promising.
Some of the supply sources have revealed that Google’s new tablet will have a 7 inch screen and will work on Google android version 4.0 ice cream sandwich. Not much details of the tablets where known until now. Now the latest information is that Asus will be manufacturing this tablet for Google. Some sources have also said that the tablet will be sporting a Tegra 3 processor.
The tie up with Asus and Google seems very much plausible. If we consider the past we can see that both the companies have a very healthy and mutually aiding relationship. The android smart phone series launched by Asus has become very popular and this has played a major role in the overall success for the android platform. Asus has been one of the first smart phone manufacturers to bring Android ice cream sandwich operating system into their devices.
If Asus is in fact going to roll out such a tablet then the overall sales of the android tablets will be at an ever time high. Today one of the most popular android tablets is Kindle Fire tablet. The reason for their success is high features and affordable price tag. The speculation is that Nexus tablet will be priced around Rs 10,000/-. This is on par with Kindle Fire price tag. If Asus is able to pack in a good range of specs and features then it would surely create a stiff competition for Amazon Kindle Fire.
The expected pricing of this tablet is very interesting. Usually high end tablets are not this much affordable. The single fact that it packs in a quad core processor itself puts this new Nexus tablet in the high end tablet category. This price tag and the Google branding is a very lethal combination for other tablet manufactures.
The exact release date of the Nexus tablet is not known as for now and the company officials are keeping mum. We can expect more information to come out close to the announcement date.
