Asus Transformer tablet match Sony tablet for PS3 compatibility

Competition between tablets has reached the prime, literally. As tablets from various companies clash in the tablet market, boasting of their unique features, a new Tablet walks between them silently and slowly becoming recognized as the World’s most powerful tablet, manufactured by Asus. The new Asus tablet which made news worldwide is Asus Transformer Prime. Asus Transformer Prime scored a 10 on 10 in looks owing mainly to the super cool 10.1 inch Super IPS LCD capacitive HD resolution touchscreen.

Asus Transformer Prime’s features include:

  • NVIDIA Tegra 3 Chipset

  • Quadcore 1.3 GHz Cortex-A9 processor and ULP GeForce Graphics Processing Unit

  • Google’s Android v3.2 Honeycomb Operating System and an update support to v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS

  • 8 Megapixel LED flash camera with full HD 1080p video recording capability

  • 1.2 Megapixel secondary camera for video conferencing

These features made Transformer Prime as the World’s most powerful tablet, which made it to the top of the list of many people looking for the Ultimate tablet.

The surprising news which came out recently is that Asus Transformer Prime tablet is compatible with Sony’s PlayStation 3 dual shock controller. The only other tablet which is compatible with the Playstation3 controller is the Sony Tablet S. Swedish website named Swedroid stated that they used a PS3 Dual shock controller with Asus Transformer Prime with relative ease. As per reports from Swedroid, Asus Transformer Prime doesn’t need any additional drivers or other stuff to make it compatible with the Dual Shock controller of the Playstation 3. All you have to do is connect the dual shock controller to the Asus tablet via the USB port and it will work just like that.

Apparently, Sony didn’t make it this simple in their PS3 compatible tablet. If you wish to play PS3 video games in the Sony Tablet S using the PS3 dual Shock controller, then Sony requires you to buy an adapter or something like that as an update, only after which you will be able to use the dual Shock controller with the tablet via Bluetooth connectivity. Sony’s PS3 compatible tablet was a top of the list must-buy item for hardcore gamers, but now, apparently, they have another alternative or may be a replacement for the Sony Tablet S.

Swedroid states that the PlayStation 3 dual shock controller can also be connected wirelessly to Asus Transformer tablet. But certain games failed to detect the controller. So they suggest a USB connection for better and improved, problem-free game play.

With PlayStation emulators like SuperGNES, FPse and N64oid, and a dual shock PlayStation 3 controller connected via USB, you will have a great time playing games in Transformer Prime – the pride of Asus. Maybe this is the beginning of a great future of mobile gaming.
