Asus unveils a notebook cum tablet, 2-in-1 hybrid Taichi
A device which you can use as laptop and tablet at the same time, that is what Asus has brought into the market. They have come up with a unique gadget, Taichi which is a convertible notebook/tablet. Uniqueness lies in the fact that this one can have multiple displays at the same time making it a standalone product in the computer world.
Asus Taichi is out with displays on the front and back sides which lets users make use of this gadget in different configurations. When you are using this gadget in the notebook mode, there will be a trackpad and a backlit QWERTY keyboard. After closing the lid you can make use of a stylus for operating the same.
Asus Taichi has the most powerful processor out in the market, i.e. the Intel Ivy Bridge Core i7 processor. Processing speed is enhanced with the availability of 4 gigs of RAM system memory. Secondary storage of this Asus gadget is provided through SSD storage.
Just like the displays, the product has dual cameras as well. While keeping the dual display feature aside, this 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch notebook is somewhat similar to the Zenbook line with its thin and light nature. Both configurations offer a resolution of 1900 x 1280 pixels. The special advantage with this system is the independent use of these displays making it possible to share with another person with a different content on the screen. Even at the lowest setting, the touch panels appear quite bright and also very responsive.
You can connect your Taichi laptop/tablet wirelessly with the help of dual-band 802.11n WiFi. The controls buttons are placed well on either sides of the laptop/tablet. The power button, mini VGA, USB 3.0 lock toggle, and power ports are housed on the left side. Other buttons like micro DVI, a volume switch headphone jack, a second USB 3.0 port, and rotation lock button is seen on the other side.
The pricing and also availability details are not known to us as of now. This Windows powered Asus gadget is expected to win many hearts with this hybrid tablet cum notebook nature.
