Byond Mi-Book L9: Android ICS Tablet Launched With 6,000 mAh Battery and Keyboard Accessory at Rs 8,499
As the low cost products come packed with all latest specs and features, several manufacturers have started coming up with price sensitive products that will suit the Indian consumers.
Recently, Byond Tech, a manufacturer of budget tablets unveiled a series of tablets under its Mi-book lineup – Mi-book Mi3, Mi-book Mi5 and Mi-book Mi9. Now, the company has launched a new device to add to its existing portfolio – Mi-book L9, categorized as Laplet, which is a term used for tablet that can double as a laptop.
Specifications
Dimensions & Weight: The tablet measures 261.6 x 165.1 x 11 mm in dimension and weighs in at 474 grams.
Display: Mi-book L9 features a 9 inch 5 point capacitive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution.
Processor: In this segment, Mi-book L9 comes packed with a 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor.
OS: The device is flavored with Android 4.0.4 ICS operating system.
Storage: When it comes to storage, the handset packs 8GB internal storage, 512MB RAM and 32GB expandable memory support with a micro SD.
Camera: The tablet sports a 0.3MP front camera for video calling and lacks a rear camera of higher resolution.
Connectivity: Mi-book L9 comes packed with connectivity features including USB OTG with support for external 3G dongles, HDMI-out and Wi-Fi.
Battery: The tablet is loaded with a 6,000 mAh battery of undisclosded backup.
Preloaded Applications
Mi-book L9 comes preloaded with productivity tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Moreover, the tablet comes with a free keyboard accessory that can double it into a laptop.
Price & Availability
When it comes to pricing, Mi-book L9 is priced at Rs 8,499 in order to compete with the other low cost products in the market.
Potential Rival
When it comes to competition, Mi-book L9 has a 9 inch display and comes with a free keyboard accessory and it has entered a stiff competition with the other tablets in the same price point.
Recently, Pantel launched Penta T-Pad WS802C-2G featuring an 8 inch multi-touch capacitive screen, 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor, Mali 400 GPU, Android 4.0.3 ICS operating system, VGA front camera, 1GB RAM, 8GB onboard storage. micro SD card slot, mini-USB and HDMI ports, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options and a 5,000 mAh battery of unknown backup.
Priced at Rs 8,299, the Pantel offering comes with a keyboard with an inbuilt stereo-phonic speaker system worth Rs 1,499.
With voice calling feature and Bluetooth connectivity, the Pantel offering could be a potential rival to the Byond Mi-book L9.
