ElitePad 900 Windows 8 tablet unveiled by HP
HP has unveiled its latest Windows 8 based tablet; ElitePad 900. This breakthrough product from HP features 10.1inch diagonal display and is extremely sleek at 9.2mm.The device is also easy to carry around weighing only 1.5 pounds. HP plans at targeting enterprise users with this product although the company is hopeful that the product will be appealing to normal consumers also.
The features
HP ElitePad tablet has a 1080p front facing camera along with an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash. The camera is accompanied by CyberLink YouCam software. Display area will be maximized by the 16:10 aspect ratio followed in this device. The device uses CNC machined aluminium and also avails the service of Corning Gorilla Glass 2. HP ElitePad tablet will be powered by next-gen Intel mobile processors. The device supports input formats like touch, pen and voice.
Smart and Useful accessories
Another notable feature of the tablet is the presence of HP ElitePad Smart Jackets which adds connectivity options along with an additional battery for longer battery life’s he device will also be accompanied by add-ons which will allow the device to be customized for specialized uses. Apart from Smart Jackets, there are also two other types of Jackets including HP ElitePad Productivity Jacket and HP ElitePad Expansion Jacket.
The Productivity Jacket includes an integrated keyboard, SD card reader, connectivity ports and also supports adjustable viewing angles. Expansion Jacket on the other hand provides connectivity options like HDMI, USB etc. Enterprise class desktop experience will be delivered using HP ElitePad Docking Station which arrives with an added keyboard and monitor.
The device will hit US markets on January 2013. Pricing of the device is yet to be disclosed by the company.
