5 Useful Tools To Improve Hard Drive Performance on Windows
Although the previous versions of Windows used to slow down your computer to a great extent, Windows 10 promises to provide better service than those. Still, some complain that Windows 10 also has the same problem at times.
The hard discs of Windows 10 can be sped up properly by using the optimization apps. Few different tools are also available for that. To increase the efficiency of the hard disc, there are certain utilities too.
5 useful tools to improve hard drive performance on Windows
1. Optimize drives
Optimize Drives is a native Windows tool which analyses the defragmentation issues. Then they fix the problems that are identified. It runs on Automatic Schedule on Settings itself. Go to start, then to Windows Administrative Tools, then Defragment and Optimise drives.
You need to select the drive that you want to fix and then choose Analyse or Optimise. Then go to Change Settings and click on the box which shows Run on Schedule. This tool should be Run once per month as advised by Microsoft.
2. Third-Party tool like Disc SpeedUp
To boost the HDDs speed, this third party tool is very beneficial. It defragments, analyses and optimizes the drives. After the defragmentation process is completed, it automatically shuts down the computer.
So you can leave it overnight, as after it's work is done, it will shut down on its own. It has better visuals. Even the defrag maps have more graphs and data and are more intuitive. It is also a lot faster than the windows tool.
3. Device Manager
Device Manager is a worthy Windows tool which increases the discs write and read speed. While the process is done, write caching should be turned on. Before it is written on the hard drive, the data can easily be stored in the cache. A data can be written to a cache a lot more quickly so the performance also improves.
But it should immediately be transferred to the hard drive, as the data in the cache is temporary.
Go to the Start Menu> Right Click on it> Choose Device Manager > Click on +sign> Right Click on the drive that you are wishing to change> Select Properties> Click on Policies tab> Select Enable write caching on the device.
4. IOBit Advanced System Care
Make sure your system stays clean. You should optimize the CPU and RAM usage and the registry should be kept clean. It is a great tool for the HDD optimization tasks which offers both paid and free versions. The paid one also has real-time monitoring, registry cleaning, and system boot optimization.
5. Razer Cortex
This tool is mainly for PC gamers and helps to speed up the hard discs. It reduces the game loading time and also helps to achieve the higher frames. It has two parts; Game Booster and System Booster. You can also clean the browser history, junk files and system cache with the help of this. It also helps to defragment the game files and also to disable the background processes.
