The main thing that you will note about the laptop is its weight. The laptop weighs in approximately at just about 1.22 kg with the weight saver option. It has the dimensions of 316x223x16.6~22.3 mm. It is made in a magnesium alloy chassis which gives it a very slim and neat look. The laptop is almost entirely made out of this alloy to reduce weight.

The overall design of the laptop is very practical and good looking. The batteries as well as the optical drive of the laptop are removable. The hard drive and RAM covers has only one screw securing them. The air vent also has a removable easy to clean dust filter. All this makes it possible to make any further upgrades if necessary to the configuration. But this would certainly mean that the warranty would become void.

The Lifebook is available in two configurations. One with the i7 processor and containing 8GB RAM and also a 750 GB hard disk. The other configuration comes with i5 processor 4GB RAM and a 640GB hard disk. The keyboard is spill proof so that it increases the practicality of the device. But this means that the keyboard is not backlit. The keys are sufficiently spaced and well placed that improves the ease of operation.

It also has a touch pad whose vertical and horizontal scrolling can be adjusted. When the market goes behind multi touch and other improved track pads Fujitsu sticks onto its unique scroll wheel design. The circular scroll wheel is also provided for the ease of movement through files. It can also be used to adjust the system volume. It also packs in a finger print scanner based on RF technology and has a LED indicator.

A wide variety of ports and connectors are provided in the laptop. It includes a USB 3.0 ports and 2 USB 2.0 ports. A HDMI port and an express card slot are also provided. The card slot takes in most of the common types of memory cards including SD and SDHC cards. There is also a port for connecting the power adapter.

The laptop has a 13.3 inch high definition display with LED backlight. It has 1366x768 pixels of resolution. It will be a joy watching high definition videos and pictures in this screen. The device is powered by a 6 cell Li-ion 72Wh battery that gives it about thirteen and a half hours of working or the Li-ion 67Wh battery based on the configuration.

The hard disk drive is SATA-300 with two partitions and is protected by the Fujitsu 3D Shock sensor. It consists of Intel high definition graphics card. The modular bay provided in the bottom holds the optical drive. This bay can be swapped for other different type of accessories including a Blu-ray drive.

This laptop is expected to be priced in at the range of close to Rs 1,00,000 in India.
