Google Nexus 7 2 Update: Top 5 Rumored Features You Should Know

No one has ever imagined the stupendous success of Google Nexus 7. Suddenly, the market for 7-inch Android tablet picked up. Whether to believe or not, Nexus 7 even cruched iPad 3 in the coolness factor.

Clearly, Asus - Google partnership paid off well and later in the day we will likely to see the magic happen all over again. Now, Google is ready to announce a beefy Nexus 7 2 powered by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean . Few minutes back, it was reported that consumers can now pre-order the device from US retailer Best Buy.

Google Nexus 7 2 Update: Top 5 Rumored Features You Should Know

The release date is pegged for July 30. Due to improved hardware Google could  ask $30( Rs. 1,774) for the basic version. The original Nexus 7 was announced at $200( Rs. 11,808)

So the Nexus 7 2 expected to start at $230(Rs. 13,602) - $269( Rs. 15,902). The tablet will be made in 16/32GB versions. In comparison to iPad Mini, the Nexus 7 2 is way less priced (if one goes with leaked pricing).

Google want to promote affordable tablets in both developed and emerging markets. There are a couple of reasons, why the makers behind Nexus 4 have opted to sell affordable Nexus 7 tablet. The first reason is to promote Android OS. Even now, many believe that Android is made for smartphones and let this space (tablet) occupied by Apple. And the second reason is surely related to promote Google services (search, Gmail, Maps etc).

All in all,  Nexus 7 2 will get benefitted from the image Google has in the market. Asus has done a superb job in the hardware department. The next-gen tablet from Google has been informally leaked many a times. Moreover, we also got a glimpse of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Today, GizBot has come up with top 5 rumors surrounding Nexus 7 2. Take a look!

    Design and form factor

The next-gen Nexus 7 should be taken seriously, when it comes to build quality. The original Nexus 7 had a soft rubbery back. Although, the tablet would retain same 7-inch display, but now the rear back seems rather plain. Yes, cosmetically you will see a big difference. The arrangement of Nexus logo has been shifted. The position of the speakers has been shifted, at the top and bottom of the tablet. There's a notification LED light at the bottom of the tablet. Now the rear camera at the back has been accommodated. The headphone jack is at the top of the tablet. Twitter sensation @evleaks recently flashed more alleged images.

The original Nexus 7 had a 7-inch display having a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. To complete with soon to be announced iPad Mini, Google has included a 7-inch display having resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It's a Full HD display, which means the images and videos will be sharper and better looking.

    Internal specifications and Camera

The latest rumor say Google has gone for Qualcomm chipset instead of Nvidia processor. The leaked information suggests a 1.5GHz Quad-core processor (Snapdragon 600) coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16/32GB of ROM (non -expandable).

When the first gen Nexus 7 was announced, everyone was unhappy to see missing camera on the rear back. Looks like, Google learnt from its past mistakes and decided to use a 5-mega pixel camera sensor on the next-gen Nexus tablet. The front side will have a VGA quality camera, which will be fine to many. With Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is expected to go live, we may think that the camera UI will also be revamped with more editing features to be introduced. Only time will tell?

    Operating system

Being a Nexus device, it is natural to expect latest Android OS and fast updates. As of now, very little is known about Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Rumors say a new dialer will be introduced alongside Bluetooth low energy and OpenGL ES 3.0 support. As we said earlier, the new camera UI is also expected to be introduced.

    Miscellaneous features and price

The Nexus 7 2 will be presented as a complete entertainment device. The tablet device is said to have wireless charging capabilities and a slim port to view Full HD content on big screen TV. Other connectivity features should be normal: 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. It is not confirmed whether Nexus 7 2 supports 4G LTE or not. GizBot is not confirmed when Indian consumers get to see Nexus 7 2 . The original Nexus 7 was launched so late in India. But now Google is promoting its services and Nexus range aggressively. If Google announces Nexus 7 2 in India , expect Rs. 17,000 for the basic version.
