Google Nexus 7: Top 5 Indian Rivals of Android Jelly Bean Tablet
Search engine giant Google has been on a full swing in launching Nexus devices including LG Nexus 4, Samsung Nexus 10 and the 32GB version of Asus made Nexus 7 tablet in October. However, the 7 inch tablet that was released in June made its official entry into India only this month for a price tag of Rs 19,999.
Moreover, with the launch of the 32GB variant of the tablet, Google discontinued the 8GB variant, which was selling for $199 (approx. Rs 11,000), which is in the same range as the Amazon offering.
Detailing on the specifications, Nexus 7 sports a 7 inch 10 point multi-touch IPS display with 1280 x 800 resolution, quad core 1.2GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS (upgradeable to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean), 1GB RAM, 16GB/32GB internal storage, 1.2MP front camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, 4,325 mAh battery and NFC connectivity.
Further, Android 4.2 upgrade will bring in new features including Photo Sphere camera, Gesture Typing, Miracast, DayDream, improved notifications, quick settings, support to multiple user accounts, improved Google Now and more to the tablet.
When it comes to pricing, though the 16GB variant of Nexus 7 is priced at Rs 19,999, several online retailers including CromaRetail, Snapdeal, Homeshop18 and Tradus have listed the tablet at lesser price tags.
