HP's TouchSmart Desktop PCs
The desktop PC seems almost unnecessary with the advent of laptops, tablets and Smartphones that can take your work, entertainment, Internet and gaming wherever you wish to go. Computers have become mobile and as a result more personal. But when there is a need to huddle together with friends and family to watch a live sports telecast or a movie, check out photos or browse the Internet, nothing beats a desktop PC. The other advantage is that kids can use the computer and access the Web for their entertainment or school projects.
These are perhaps the reasons why the desktop PC is still in demand. Manufacturers keep adding new technologies on to their PCs.
HP has announced the new TouchSmart 620 All-In-One PC which is a 1920x1080 multi touch full HD screen which you can watch in 3D on wearing the stereoscopic glasses. The screen has a contrast ratio of 1000:1, typical brightness of 250 units and a response time of 4ms.
HP TouchSmart 620 has been equipped with the 3.10GHz Core i5 2400 second generation processor from Intel and is pre-loaded with 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium OS. The system has 8GB DDR3 memory with graphics supported by Radeon HD 6670A and GDDR5 1GB video memory. TouchSmart 620 has a SATA 1.5TB hard drive with 5400 RPM. There is a slot-load Blu-ray player, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity and GbE LAN. The TV tuner that is built-in allows rewinding, pausing and recording live TV. The desktop also comes with specialized software to facilitate better touch input and 3D viewing.
TouchSmart 620 is also equipped with 7 very useful USB 2.0 ports, 6-in-1 memory card reader, 3D webcam, ports for headphones, and of course wireless mouse and keyboard. HP has called the TouchSmart 620 the “All-In-One PC” and claims this is the ultimate entertainment experience for family audiences. This gives the impression that this is quite a good desktop PC having everything and more than what a family would expect of it. The features show that HP TouchSmart 620 3D PC does live up to its “All in One” name.
The price tag for HP TouchSmart 620 is expected to be around Rs 80, 000 to Rs 1, 00, 000.
