After announcing HTC One Max barely two days ago, the Taiwanese giant has unleashed a brand new smartphone. The HTC Desire 709d will be sold in Chinese market in the coming days.
Unlike the One Max, which has a massive 5.9-inch FHD display; the Desire 709d comes with a 5-inch (960 X 540 pixels). The HTC Desire 709d is a mid-range Android smartphone. The pricing details are yet to be communicated by HTC.
These days HTC seems busy launching China-centric handsets. The recently launched HTC One Max is targeted at high-end Chinese individuals, whereas the Desire 709d will appeal to young urban youth.
The Desire 709d shares similarity with the Desire 600 in respect to internal hardware. The Desire 600 packs a 4.5-inch Super LCD 2 display having a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, whereas the Desire 709d has a 5-inch qHD display having a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Other specifications are more or less same.
The Desire 709d features a 1.2GHz quad-core processor powered by Snapdragon 200 SoC, Adreno 203 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The makers have added a 2,100mAh battery fitted inside. The 8-megapixel camera is capable of recording videos in Full HD 1080p format along with Auto Focus and LED Flash.
Also add a 2.1-megapixel front facing camera as well. The internal memory stands at 8GB, which can be further expanded via a microSD card slot. Just like the recently launched handsets under Desire series, the HTC Desire 709d has built-in BoomSound front speakers. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box with Sense UI on the top. The phone supports Dual SIM capability.
As of now, it is unknown whether HTC has any plans to launch the Desire 709d in India or not. Indian consumers should expect the HTC Desire 709d to arrive in Indian before the end of 2013. Since mid-ranged Desire series is quite popular in the Indian market; HTC might launch the Desire 709d with possibly different model no. Who knows?Stay tuned to GizBot for more updates!
