Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, the Android tablet unveiled by the Korean tech giant at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in February is now available in the US and UK markets and has gone up pre-order in India. Tech experts have given rave reviews to the latest tablet and assume that the tablet is one of the biggest competitor to Apple third generation iPad 3.

 

Relatively, one the renowned repair company iFixit have come up with their usual teardown job on the new Galaxy Note 10.1 to estimate how does the device stack against the tablet dominators in the current tech market segment.

Yes, the tablet proved itself with fantastic score sheet. Reportedly, the experts at iFixit said that almost all the parts of the tablet can be easily swapped with a new one, including the display glass, as there are no complicated ribbon cables that make the replacement of the components difficult.

Moreover, the verdict from iFixit claimed that, when it came to disassembly and repair, the Galaxy Note 10.1 scored 8 out of 10 (10 indicates that the tablet is the easiest to repair) as compared to its competitors. As the repairability scale of Apple iPad is 2 out 10, however, talking about the recently unveiled Google-branded Asus-made Google Nexus 7, the result was 10 out of 10.

Many tech experts are quite impressed with the score card of the hefty Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. According to TechCrunch reports, Galaxy Note 10.1 and its cute little S Pen along with the good repairability score is enough to tempt consumers away from Apple’sNew iPad, considering almost the similar price points they hold.

Moreover, when it comes to specifications, both tablets are quite similar on the features front as well. While, Galaxy Note 10.1 sports a 10.1 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS topped with Samsung TouchWIZ UI, is equipped with a 1.4 GHz quad core Exynos processor, 5 MP rear camera, 1.9 MP front facing camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and HSPA+ connectivity features. Moreover, the Galaxy Note 10.1 will be available in three variants – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB along with a micro SD card slot.

Coming to Apple's New iPad it boasts features like higher-resolution Retina display, new A5X chip with quad-core graphics and a 5 megapixel iSight camera with advanced optics and the price of the device in India starts at Rs 30,000.
