Karbonn Smart Tab 3 Blade vs Micromax Funbook Talk: Fight Between Newly Launched Budget Android ICS Tablets

On each passing day, the Indian tech market is witnessing a new budget product launch – smartphone or tablet. Karbonn Mobiles, which unveiled a variety of refreshed models of smartphones since last week, also came up with two tablets in its Smart Tab series – Smart Tab 3 Blade and Smart Tab 9 Marvel.

At the same time, Micromax has also been releasing tablets in its Funbook lineup frequently. The latest product added to the list is Funbook Talk, which holds a budget price tag, running Android ICS OS on board.

With the launch of budget tablets by both the rival companies, the low cost Android tablet market, which is already crowded is becoming highly competitive.

Hence, Gizbot has come up with a comparison between the newly released Karbonn Smart Tab 3 Blade and Micromax Funbook Talk to help the consumers decide which one to buy.

Dimensions and Weight: While the dimensions and weight of Smart Tab 3 are not disclosed by the manufacturer, Funbook Talk boasts a dimension of 192 X 122 X 10.5 mm and weighs in at 225 grams.

Display: Both Smart Tab 3 and Funbook Talk pack are 7 inch tablets with capacitive touchscreen display of 800 x 480 pixel resolution.

Processor: In this segment, Smart Tab 3 is equipped with a 1.2GHz processor and Funbook Talk has a 1 GHz processor.

Operating System: On the operating system front, both the tablets are flavored with Andriod 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

Camera: When it comes to camera optics, Smart Tab 3 has a 1.3MP front camera while Funbook Talk has a 0.3MP front camera for video calling.

However, both the tablets lack a rear camera with better resolution.

Storage:In this segment, both the tablets have 4GB internal memory accompanied with 512 MB RAM.

However, both the budget tablets have a micro SD card slot supporting expandable memory up to 32GB.

Connectivity: On the connectivity front, the tablets are packed with features such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPRS and micro USB 2.0 port.

Battery: Smart Tab 3 is loaded with a 2,600 mAh Li-ion battery and Funbook Talk has a 2,800 mAh Li-ion battery, both offering up to 4 to 5 hours usage on Wi-Fi.

Price: When it comes to pricing, Smart Tab 3 Blade is priced at Rs 5,990 and Funbook Talk is priced at Rs 7,499 respectively.

Verdict

When it comes to Smart Tab 3 Blade, the tablet has a faster processor and better camera. Moreover, the tablet has a relatively lesser price tag as compared to the Micromax offering.

On the other hand, Micromax Funbook Talk has more software features including do Picasa, YouTube and Document Viewer and a better battery.

However, being Android ICS tablets, both Karbonn Smart Tab 3 Blade and Micromax Funbook Talk offer similar user experience and skin.
