Lava to launch an affordable Android tablet in 2012
Android tablets are a trend these days. They come with a lot of attractive features that are useful and a certain few also equips SIM slots. And to top it off, Google’s revolutionary Android is the operating system in these tablets. With the Android OS, you can download your favorite apps from an incredibly huge collection of apps totally free to download, from the Android market.
One thing which disappoints you when you finally come across the best Android tablet which fits your profile is the price tag. The better and greater the number of features the tablet has, the bigger will be the price tag. The perfect tablet ready to be bought in front of you but with a price tag you can’t afford, is a major disappointment. But Lava Mobiles comes with its own alternative for an affordable tablet. India based mobile handset manufacturer, Lava is all set to release their new Tablet which will be running on Android operating system.
Lava tablet will run on Android v2.3 Gingerbread version will appear in market by February next year. Company sources also stated that Lava’s new tablet will also come bundled with a connection from a service provider.
Some specifications of the tablet:
- Google’s Android v2.3 Gingerbread operating System
- 7 inch capacitive Touchscreen
- 1 GHz Processor
- SIM slot from an anonymous service provider.
Lava Mobiles is making a huge leap to the tablet sector just like Spice. Lava aims to grow in demand by making Tablets, which are affordable, just like they do with their mobile handsets, which are considered the most affordable handsets in India, also without any compromise in quality.
According to the company sources, they are also in talks with Intel so as to get Intel processors for their tablet. Apart from this, Lava also has plans to include a few apps in the tablet, which are under development. The apps are of various varieties ranging from those useful in Health to even education sectors. It was earlier reported that this Lava tablet will be launched in December itself. But Chief Market officer of Lava, Sunil Raina, said they didn’t want to launch the tablet in a rush. So, in order to make it perfect, the Research and Development wing of Lava took their time. The new Lava tablet will be available for a price below Rs 6,000/- in India.
