Lenovo introduces new models: Classmate+ Convertible PC& Clamshell laptop
The idea of Laptops and tablet devices aimed for kids which would be reliable for educational and entertainment purposes isn’t something new. OLPC is pretty popular for their efforts in bringing out very affordable computers for kids. Lenovo happens to be trying to work it out to bring an affordable multimode computer, as Lenovo recent efforts brought forth an all new Lenovo laptop.
It was at this year’s CES that Lenovo took the chance of revealing their new educational computer, which achieved positive reviews instantly. Lenovo’s new product is a Classmate+ PC convertible Notebook.
The laptop comes with a lot of promise and potential and is said to be very much affordable and easy to use. Considering Lenovo’s reputation, we can be sure of another fact that this laptop is going to offer great battery efficiency as well adding to the reliability.
Much of the specifications aren’t yet revealed, but the specifications that were disclosed at CES, was quite enough to rate this device as a pretty decent choice. The Classmate+ laptop comes with a newly developed Central processing unit – Intel N2600 Atom.
The 10.1 inch Anti glare screen also adds to the sleek looks of the laptop. The convertible model is separate which obviously sports a pretty responsive touchscreen. High brightness and HD screens are optional for both of the models.
You can also use a pen stylus with the capacitive touchscreen. The RAM capacity is decent as the Lenovo laptop sports a DDR3 RAM of 2 GB capacity. Storage specs would have been more impressive if it had something more than a 320 GB hard disk drive. 32 GB solid state drive is also a pretty good addition.
Although the memory is low, the SSD drive is pretty fast. Offering 10 hours of usage if fully charged, the 6-cell battery of the Lenovo Classmate+ PC is the most attractive feature.
If you are wondering about the ports coming with the Classmate+, you needn’t worry. There is a VGA port, 3 USB ports and an HDMI port which is optional. The HDMI port would come in handy to display data of HD quality in bigger and better external display screens.
The Laptop is quite durable, tough and rugged. Classmate+ sports a decent keyboard which is water proof as well. It also comes equipped with a strong DC jack and a reinforced steel hinge which gives the ruggedness.
The Lenovo Classmate+ Convertible PC and Classmate+ Clamshell models will be available soon for qualifying educational institutions and governments with variable price tags that would depend on the user’s tariffs, taxes as well as configuration options.
