Lenovo's featuring Windows 8 tablet preview
We have already seen some gadgets featuring Windows 8 this week including that of Asus, Acer and MSI. There are more electronic gadget makers entering this category and the next one in the pipeline is Lenovo. They are in the final stages of launching a Windows 8 tablet. It seems that we may need to wait for some more time to get a hand to it as Lenovo is yet to even announce a named for the tablet.
But some sources indicate that this would come under their popular brand of ThinkPad. The new Windows 8 tablet will reach the market in a black finish and soft-touch which is quite resistive to smudges and scratches. It would be quite convenient to cradle the device in landscape mode.
The weight of the new Windows 8 tablet from Lenovo is not confirmed. But from the sources available, it seems to be light and thin. It is expected to have 9.7 mm thickness. There are some rumours like it may be featuring Intel Clover Trail processor. The new tablet will also come with a very good battery life of up to 10 hours operating time on a single charge.
From the first appearance it seems to have a wide display screen which will be somewhere around 10.1-inch. The 1366 x 768 resolution is also quite decent spec considering a Windows 8 tablet. The rumoured pictures say it is featuring dual cameras as well.
The tablet can be expected to have good connectivity options including micro-HDMI capability. The picture reveals that it has a docking connector as well. Only these much details can be figured out as of now.
We can look forward to the Lenovo tablet featuring Windows 8 to hit the tablet market very soon. The price of this long awaited tablet is not officially fixed. The other Windows 8 tablets like that of Asus and Acer are expected to arrive in a price range of around Rs. 50,000/-. And the earlier Lenovo tablets under Thinkpad brand was offered for a price of around Rs. 35,000/-. By keeping these points in mind we can expect this upcoming Windows 8 tablet to have a price somewhere around Rs. 45,000/-.
