AMD Ryzen PRO 7000 Series ZEN4 CPUs Launched With PCIe Gen5, DDR5 RAM And More

AMD has launched its Ryzen PRO 7000 series of chips. These powerful CPUs are based on the latest AMD ZEN4 architecture. Manufactured on the advanced 4nm fabrication process, they support DDR5 RAM and PCIe Gen5.

The AMD Ryzen PRO 7000 series CPUs are primarily intended for businesses. Here are all the details about the CPU variants available in the latest AMD Ryzen PRO series.

AMD Ryzen 5, 7, And 9 PRO CPUs Specifications, Features

The new AMD Ryzen PRO 7000 series chips are based on ZEN4 architecture. They are manufactured on the 4nm fabrication node.
AMD launched the Ryzen PRO 7000 series merely a year after launching the Ryzen PRO 5000 series CPUs. The 7000 series CPUs are based on the future-proof AM5 platform.

The entry-level Ryzen 5 PRO 7645 CPU features 6 Cores and 12 Threads. These CPUs can go up to 5.1 GHz (Base Clock 3.8 GHz). The middle-level Ryzen 7 PRO 7745 packs 8 Cores and 16 Threads, going up to 5.3 GHz (Base Clock 3.8 GHz). The top-end Ryzen 9 PRO 7945 has 12 Cores and 24 Threads clocked at up to 5.4 GHz (Base Clock 3.7 GHz).

AMD Ryzen HS and U Series Launched

All the AMD Ryzen PRO 7000 series chips are clocked at 65W. In addition to the AMD Ryzen 7000 PRO series, AMD has also launched the "HS" and the "U" series CPUs in the 7X40 series for desktops, laptops, and notebook computers.

The AMD Ryzen PRO 7040 family includes three "HS" and three "U" CPUs. The HS series is rated at 35-54W while the U series is rated at 15-28W. While the HS desktop chips have embedded RDNA 2 GPUs, the U series get the RDNA 3 GPU.

All the AMD Ryzen PRO Series CPUs have several security and privacy features including AMD's Shadow Stack, Microsoft Pluton, AMD Memory Guard, and Secure Processor. These features thwart middle-men attacks as well as always encrypt data in transition besides securing the data integrity.
