Apple Mac Studio With M5 Max and M5 Ultra Launched in India: Check Price, Specifications, Features, Availabili

Apple has unveiled its latest Mac Studio models, powered by the new M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips. The compact desktops are positioned as Apple's most powerful Mac computers, targeting professionals who need high performance for demanding creative, development and AI workloads.

The new Mac Studio retains the familiar silver design but receives major internal upgrades. The updated lineup also brings the Mac Studio family onto the same M5-generation platform.

M5 Ultra Gets Quad-Die Architecture

The flagship M5 Ultra uses Apple's next-generation UltraFusion interconnect technology. It combines two dual-die M5 Max chips into a single quad-die architecture.

The result is a processor with a 36-core CPU and 80-core GPU, along with up to 1.2TB/s of unified memory bandwidth.

Apple says the M5 Ultra delivers up to 4.3 times faster AI compute than the M3 Ultra. Graphics performance is up to 1.8 times faster, while CPU performance is up to 1.3 times faster. Storage performance has also doubled.

Built for AI and Professional Workloads

The M5 Ultra's performance improvements are particularly aimed at demanding professional applications and artificial intelligence workloads.

The high memory bandwidth and large unified memory configurations allow professionals to work with resource-intensive applications and machine learning models directly on the desktop.

Despite the significant increase in performance, Apple has retained the Mac Studio's compact form factor and quiet operation.

Connectivity Gets an Upgrade

The updated Mac Studio also brings several connectivity improvements. It supports Wi-Fi 7 for faster wireless networking and Bluetooth 6.

For professional workflows involving multiple displays, the Mac Studio can drive up to four 5K Studio Display XDR monitors at 120Hz.

Apple has also retained the rear USB-A ports introduced with the original Mac Studio, providing compatibility with existing peripherals.

512GB Memory Configuration Coming Later

Apple will offer an even higher-end Mac Studio configuration with 512GB of unified memory.

However, customers looking for this maximum-memory configuration will have to wait until late October. This option is aimed primarily at professionals working with extremely demanding workloads.

Pricing and Availability

The new Mac Studio with M5 Max and M5 Ultra is available for pre-order in India from August 25 via Apple's online store and Apple Store app. The desktop will start arriving at customers and Apple Store locations from September 22.

The Mac Studio with M5 Max starts at ₹2,79,900, while the education price starts at ₹2,56,900. The Mac Studio with M5 Ultra starts at ₹6,29,900, with an education price of ₹5,84,900. Additional configuration options will also be available. The Mac Studio with 512GB of unified memory is expected to arrive in late October.

Meanwhile, macOS 27 is currently available as a public beta through the Apple Beta Software Program and will be released as a free software update this autumn. Apple notes that some features may vary by region and language.

Customers can also use Apple Trade In to receive credit towards a new Mac. AppleCare+ is available for additional coverage, including accidental damage, battery service and priority support.
