Asus Pro BU201 and BU401 Ultrabooks launched in India, Featuring Fingerprint Sensor!
Taiwanese OEM Asus has now added two new feathers to their business focused ultrabook offering in India with the launch of the Asus Pro BU201 and BU401. Asus is leaving no stones unturned in a bid to consolidate the Indian electronic market -be it with a smartphones, tablet or even with their laptops.
Both the ultra-books come with impressive built as they sport a carbon fibre like material. The company even goes to the height of claiming that their products also feature a ‘Military-Spec' ratings for durability and shock-resistance.

Asus Pro BU201:
The cheaper of the two siblings Asus Pro BU201 feature 12.5 inch Full HD (1920x1080) LED display with 16:9 aspect ratio. The performance is handled by an ultra-low power dual core Intel Core i5-4210U processor coupled with Intel HD Graphics 4400. Each cores though clocked at 1.7 GHz can be overclocked to 2.7 GHz. Along with that there a free 64 bit Windows 8.1 Professional. The ultra-book also comes with Microsoft Office 2013 Trial pack.

There is 4GB of RAM and 500GB of HDD at 5400 RPM (which is pretty bad for the price). We would have loved to see 7200 RPM HDD included. SSD would have done great too. Plus we have a HD webcam, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, 3 USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet and a VGA port.
Asus Pro BU401:
The AsusPro BU401 ultrabook is a little different with a 14-inch (1600x900) LED backlit display and runs on Windows 7 64-bit Professional. This a bummer for us, and we really don't understand Asus's strategy behind using a old generation processor in a costly ultrabook like this. We can't also find the logic behind a lowe resolution display in a bigger screen! So far it looks like Asus has already killed the sales number of this ultrabook by providing such strange specifications! But we are happy that at least on can upgrade the OS Windows 8 64-bit Professional. Asus is also bundling a one year subscription of McAfee Internet Security 2012 pack along with the device.

Commenting on the launch, Peter Chang, Regional Head, South Asia and Country Manager, System Business Group, Asus India said, "We are very actively working towards satiating the requirements of every genre of computing which includes gaming, personal and official. Our latest launch of the Asus Pro Advanced Ultrabook range is aimed at aiding modern businesses and their computing requirements. It enables users to work without worries and personifies our promise to inspire and power businesses."
There's something new in both the laptops though and that is the Fingerprint sensor. We are in a age were Fingerprint sensor is coming with each an every high end smartphones out there and now this was the time for one in a laptop!
The AsusPro BU201 and BU401 ultrabooks will be available at a price of Rs. 85,999 and Rs. 89,499 respectively across retailers in India.
