Keeping the same long-range 50x optical zoom range of its predecessor, the Canon PowerShot SX540 HS ups the ante with a new 20.3MP 1/2.3" High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor and the use of the DIGIC 6 processor. This results in higher-resolution shooting and lower noise at high ISOs, as well as a fast continuous shooting rate. Video also gets a bump with the ability to record Full HD video at 60p in addition to 30p.
