Computex 2026: MediaTek Focuses on AI Infrastructure, Wi-Fi 8 and Future 6G Networks

MediaTek showcased several AI-focused platforms designed for consumer and enterprise applications. Among the demonstrations was NVIDIA DGX Spark, a desktop AI system built on the NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, featuring a 20-core CPU and a GPU capable of delivering up to one petaFLOP of AI performance. The platform is intended to support on-device execution of large AI models.

Focus on Edge AI and Intelligent Computing

In the automotive segment, MediaTek highlighted the Dimensity AX C-X1 smart cockpit platform, which integrates NVIDIA technologies to support AI-assisted vehicle functions, hybrid edge-cloud computing and human-machine interaction systems. The company also presented the Dimensity AX MT2739 telematics platform, which supports 3GPP Release 18 5G NR-NTN satellite communications and is designed to maintain connectivity in challenging environments.

MediaTek Expands AI, Automotive and Data Center Portfolio at Computex

The company additionally demonstrated AI-enabled platforms for smartphones, tablets, Chromebooks, e-readers, IoT devices and smart home products. These included support for offline AI generation, meeting transcription and AI-assisted image enhancement technologies.

Data Center and Network Infrastructure Developments

MediaTek outlined its approach to AI data center infrastructure through its Data Center Solutions (DCS) portfolio. The offering includes custom ASICs, custom XPUs, advanced packaging technologies and rack-level integration designed to support large-scale AI deployments.

The company also showcased co-packaged optics technology capable of reaching bandwidth speeds of up to 400Gbps per fiber, alongside MicroLED-based optical interconnect technologies intended to improve power efficiency and bandwidth density within data centers. According to MediaTek, the MicroLED implementation can reduce power consumption by up to 50% compared to conventional approaches while maintaining compatibility with existing infrastructure.

Wi-Fi 8 and 6G Technology Demonstrations

Connectivity was another major focus of the showcase. MediaTek introduced the Filogic 8800, which it describes as a cross-generation interoperable Wi-Fi 8 chipset. The company stated that the solution is designed to improve network efficiency, throughput and device compatibility. MediaTek also demonstrated Filogic AI, a network management system featuring AI-assisted diagnostics, power optimization and traffic management capabilities.

Looking ahead, MediaTek presented two 6G technology concepts, including a demonstration of 6G radio interoperability and a collaborative MIMO solution that enables devices to share and aggregate signals. These technologies are being developed to support future low-latency AI-driven applications and next-generation wireless communication networks.
