GIGABYTE Introduces Z890 PLUS Series Motherboards For Intel Core Ultra Processors
GIGABYTE has announced its new Z890 PLUS Series motherboards, designed for systems built around Intel’s Core Ultra 270K Plus and 250K Plus processors. The new lineup focuses on performance tuning, memory improvements, and several features aimed at making PC assembly easier.

The series will include multiple models such as Elite, EAGLE, FORCE, and Duo X, which are expected to roll out in stages.
Ultra Turbo Mode Adds Performance Profiles
One of the key additions in the Z890 PLUS lineup is a feature called Ultra Turbo Mode.
This mode offers three preset performance levels that allow users to adjust system performance through a simple setting in the BIOS. The first level focuses on boosting gaming performance, while higher levels apply more aggressive CPU and memory tuning.
According to GIGABYTE, the feature is designed to help users get more performance out of supported Intel Core Ultra processors without manually adjusting complex settings.
Focus On DDR5 Memory Performance
The Z890 PLUS series also introduces a memory design called D5 Duo X, featured in the Elite Duo X and Force Duo X models.
Instead of using four memory slots, the design uses a two-slot configuration intended to maintain higher memory speeds while still supporting larger capacities. The platform supports the CQDIMM memory standard and maintains compatibility with CUDIMM modules.
GIGABYTE says this approach allows the motherboard to reach DDR5-10266 memory speeds under supported conditions.
The company also notes that it worked with memory brands such as ADATA, TeamGroup, and V-color during development to improve compatibility.
Cooling And Power Delivery
To handle demanding workloads, the Z890 PLUS series includes a Digital Twin 16+1+2 phase VRM design.
The boards also use a cooling system called VRM Thermal Armor Advanced, designed to help maintain stable temperatures during heavy CPU loads.
For storage cooling, GIGABYTE introduced M.2 EZ-Flex, a design that improves contact between the SSD and its heatsink to help manage temperatures for high-speed drives.
Designed To Make PC Building Easier
GIGABYTE has also added several features aimed at simplifying the PC building process.
These include EZ-Latch Plus and EZ-Latch Click, which allow users to install or remove M.2 heatsinks and PCIe components without screws.
Another addition is WIFI EZ-Plug, designed to make Wi-Fi antenna installation easier. The boards also include a feature called DriverBIOS, intended to simplify driver installation during setup.
The motherboard uses a full metal base plate, which GIGABYTE says helps strengthen the board and protect internal components during installation.
Connectivity And Platform Support
The Z890 PLUS motherboards also include several modern connectivity options.
These include 5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 7, and PCIe 5.0 M.2 storage support. The boards also feature USB4 Type-C ports with DisplayPort support, allowing connections to high-resolution displays and compatible peripherals.
GIGABYTE says the Z890 PLUS series will become available in the market gradually, with different models launching over time.
