With the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 approaching near, Lenovo has unwrapped its new series of ThinkPad notebooks. The new series comprises of a total of 9 models, two in ThinkPad X, three in ThinkPad T and four new models in ThinkPad L series. The new notebooks by Lenovo bring some noticeable improvements in computing, connectivity and security departments.

Lenovo's latest ThinkPad X series will sell at a starting price of $999 and the ThinkPad T series will start at $989 for the basic model. The third series, ThinkPad L is a bit affordable and has been introduced at a starting price of $609.

Let's have a look at the features of Lenovo's latest ThinkPad series notebooks.

The ThinkPad X is specially crafted for the business purposes. The series will offer two models- X380 Yoga and X280. Both the models will feature Rapid charging that is said to refuel 80 percent battery life in 60 minutes. ThinkPad X380 Yoga will also have some interesting features such as Active Pen and an IR camera with Windows Hello support. Both the models will be backed by Intel's latest 8th-generation Core i7 processors paired with up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of SSD storage. The X series models will feature USB Type C ports.

Lenovo X280 will also have an important design element called as "ThinkShutter" which covers the Webcam physically to provide privacy control of the camera. To disable the camera all one need to do is slide the "ThinkShutter". Lenovo has used the same technology for some of its ThinkPad T series.

Lenovo X380 on the other hand is void of the webcam cover, however it does have an IR (InfraRed) camera for windows Hello face recognition. Overall, ThinkPad X380 and X280 give some ideas of what could be in store for consumers by launching the X280 and X380 Yoga ahead of the CES.

The Lenovo ThinkPad series T and L are also getting a makeover. The Lenovo ThinkPad L series business laptops are embedded with USB Type C and Type USB C power adapter which was long awaited for the Laptops. The ThinkPad L will be available in a new 13-inch form factor, apart from the 14-inch and 15 Lenovo has used the latest 8th generation core i7 processor to power the laptops with 16 GB RAM and upto 2TB storage, which is surely going to make the laptops super fast.

The ThinkPad T lineup will also have new security features like the IR camera, fingerprint reader and ThinkShutter Camera. Lenovo claims that the ThinkPad T480s is one of the lightest business laptops in its category.

Lenovo's latest ThinkPads are said to be available for sale from next month. The prices in India are yet to be announced. Besides the new ThinkPad series notebooks, Lenovo has also introduced a Docking station, Lenovo tablet 10 and ThinkVision monitors.
