ViewSonic ViewPad 7 is basically an Android 2.2 tablet enabled with UMTS connectivity. Coming with 7 inch TFT display and a resolution of 480 X 800, the tablet has some high end configurations well arranged in it. Coming under the same genus of Android powered tablets is the new Samsung 7.7 Tab. As the name points, the display will be 7.7 and most probably a capacitive touch screen considering that Samsung wouldn’t risk compromising the display of their most anticipated tablet ever. Backing up the impressive out looks of the tablet is an equally impressive and highly functional Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS.

Peeking under the hoods, one would find a single core Qualcomm MSM processor in ViewSonic ViewPad 7 features. It has a screen display of size 7 inches. The pixel resolution for the screen is 480 X 800 pixels. It has a light sensor enabled in it. In Samsung 7.7 Tablet features are it’s 7.7 inch capacitive touch screen display with 16 Million colors. A multi touch input is possible and the screen UI is enhanced by a Samsung Touchwiz UX. A Gyro Sensor, accelerometer sensor for UI auto rotate and an ambient light sensor will be in constant work providing the user with all the possible conveniences.

ViewSonic ViewPad 7 will feature a 3 Megapixel camera with good pixel support. A secondary camera is provided in order to make it possible for making video conference calls with the tablet. Samsung 7.7 Tablets will also feature dual cameras for image capturing and video calls. The data storage in Samsung 7.7 Tab comes with variant memory storage options offering 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB internal storage. In ViewPad the memory storage can be expanded up to 32 GB with an external microSD, microHSD cards.

What makes a tablet more favourite for the people depends mainly on the device’s capability to connect to internet instantly facilitating fast video buffering and similar other online activities. Manufacturers of branded tablets therefore usually don’t compromise when it comes to connectivity of the tablets. All the recently manufactured tablets out in the market are well equipped with an 802.11 b/g/n WiFi device and an updated Bluetooth 3.0. Samsung 7.7 Tab follows a similar configuration while ViewSonic ViewPad 7 will have an older version of Bluetooth v2.0 but has an updated WiFi.

Both devices support multiple format playback option for playing variant video and audio files. Easy internet browsing with improved browsers is now possible in both. ViewSonic ViewPad 7 with its features has a price tag of $649 in the US market, which is around Rs 30,000 in India. More details on the price and availability of Samsung 7.7 tab are not yet known.
