Samsung launches 2 new android 4.0 tablets
The expectation for Consumer electronics show held during the first week of January was very high. But the number of tablets launched there could not satisfy a gadget lover. Now all hopes are directed toward the Mobile world congress which is going to be held in Barcelona this month itself. The tech world expects a lot more tablets to be introduced during the venue and that too by some of the top manufacturers in the world.
The latest rumour is that Samsung is going to launch two new tablets during this event. Also the interesting thing is that the tablets are said to feature Android Ice cream Sandwich operating system. Not much of the specs or features of these devices are known except for some leaks.
Ameblo.jp, a Japanese tech site has got the wind of these two devices recently. According to them the tablets are code named as GT-P3100 and GT-P5100. These are Wi-Fi certified tablets according to the speculations. The codenames seem to be legitimate if we consider the code names of the past devices by Samsung.
For example Galaxy Tab 7 Plus had the code name GT-P6200 before it was launched sometime in the last year. In the code name GT stood for Galaxy Tab and the term P is for the type of device. In this case P stands for tablet. So these new devices are also tablets belonging to the Galaxy Tab series.
There are different speculations going around in the net regarding these tablets. Some say that this might be a cheap and affordable tablet which is aimed to create competition for Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablet. While the other speculation is that this will be a high end cutting edge tablet which will sport a 2560 x 1600 pixels retina display and a 2 GHz quad core processor.
Sometimes one of those tablets that are going to be launched is an affordable one while the other is a high tech one. What Samsung has in store for its users is yet to be found out.
The competitor for Amazon Kindle Fire will have moderate specs like 1024 x 600 pixel resolution screen and the emphasis would be given on the pricing. The tablet might be made available to the general public with a price tag of about Rs.15,000/-. Let’s wait till the Mobile world congress to get more information about these Samsung tablets.
