Sony's impressive lineup for this fiscal year has not ended, as the Japanese giant is yet to announce its Honami device. The Xperia Z maker recently came up with a large sized phablet having Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor ducked inside. If you think this is it from Sony's side then you are wrong. The tech vendor may come with another high end Android phone in the coming days.
IFA Berlin is around the corner and there is no better place to announce Honami i1 other than IFA. The latest buzz around Honami i1 is that Sony could announce this device on September 4, two days before the global conference kicks off. The team behind PlayStation 4 has already started sending invites to media in Japan( via Rbmen).
The invite, however, did not say anything in regards to Honami i1 or any other flagship device. But it does mention about "Exclusive booth unveiling", which could mean a brand new handset to be unveiled at IFA Berlin.
Earlier this year, Sony had announced Xperia Z and the Xperia Z Ultra. For the past few days, the rumors around Honami i1 have started to emerge. The phone is said to have Cyber-shot branding on the top. It is also believed that Sony is making this handset to take on just announced Nokia Lumia 1020 and Samsung's Galaxy S4 Zoom.
The Honami will pack a 20-mega pixel camera along with Xenon flash. In terms of looks and form factor, the phone won't be different from Xperia Z. Analysts' believe that Sony will again go for a 5-inch Full HD display. The device should pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean powered handset is said to go on sale later this year. It is to be seen what Sony brings at IFA Berlin. Stay tuned to GizBot.
