Sony unveils PRS-T2 eBook Reader: Top Features Explained [PICTURES]
Japanese tech giant Sony has recently forayed into the market of touch-screen e-ink e-reader with the launch of PRS-T2 reader. While the market is commanded by the likes of Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch and to some extent Apple iPads, thus it would been quite a challenge for Sony to dent the segment with its new offering. However, the manufacturer can outturn the retail figures against the majors only through quality specifications and features. Hence, let go ahead to have a look at it.
Highlight Features
The PRS-T2 is a Wi-Fi enabled reader, which is largely similar to the model released in 2011, with a 6 inch E Ink display. However, the latest offering is thin and lightweight with slightly redesigned buttons buttons. The difference is not only restricted to the hardware, but also involved some software tweaks, which make everything faster and smoother.
The most interesting feature is the sharing capability, which is incorporated in the PRS-T2 reader, as it allows the users to connect Evernote to the reader and share all the content. This way, if the user makes some changes in a content on the Reader, it will get synced to Evernote. This feature was lacked by Amazon Kindle Fire, and it should make the Sony Reader a win among the Evernote fans.
The users don't have to install any software to access the Reader Store on their computers, as it is all done through a Web based interface, that is accessible from most browsers.
A Sony spokesperson was quoted saying "Consumers now have the ability to post a short passage from books purchased from Reader Store to Facebook directly from the device along with the book cover, author, and title."
