Vinci launching latest version of VINCI Tab a toddler tablet
The year 2011 can be considered as the year of the tablets. Lot of tablet manufactures has come up with their own series of devices. A new trend has also been started with the introduction of toddler tablets. Toddler tablets mainly concentrate on learning applications and games that are made especially for kids.
VINCI tablet was one of the much noticed tablets in the previous year. This year during the CES they have introduced an improved and more cost effective version of their existing tablet.
Features and specifications of VINCI tablet:
7 inch touch screen display
800 x 480 pixel resolution
Cortex A8 processor
Clocked at 1 GHz
512 MB RAM
Android 2.3 operating system
The new tablet is named as VINCI dBlock. The tablet is very much smaller and compact when compared to the original VINCI device. The design and looks are exactly the same as the old device but it has only half the size. The type of screen, the processor and the number of ports are all same. This tablet is also much cheaper.
There will be a red rubber like handle bar that will surround the whole device. This ensures that even if the tablet falls from a considerable height, nothing would happen to it. The difference in the new device is that here this structure would be connected directly to the edges of the tablet. This increases the overall compactness of the device.
One main disadvantage of the original VINCI tablet was that it didn’t have Wi-Fi. The new device overcomes this difficulty and offers the same for allowing social gaming applications. There will also be a parental control option in the tablet so that its use can be restricted. The main feature that the new tablet concentrates is on Social gaming.
These types of games when played with their peers will help the child to get more acquainted with social activities and the real world. This is made possible with the Wi-Fi network which enables the unit to communicate with a main controller that gives access to games and in game interactions.
The actual price tag of the new VINCI tablet is not known as for now, but it is expected to be in an affordable range. This affordable price tag may result in the sale of more units of the device since the major problem with the old version was its very high price figure.
