ZenFocus myZenTAB 708B Now Available Online at Rs 5,999: Is the New Android ICS Tablet Worth A Purchase?

ZenFocus, a Haryana based firm has come up with an entry-level Android tablet dubbed myZenTAB 708B, the successor of myZenTAB 708BH, which was launched in October.

Commenting at the launch event, Mike Dhall, CEO of ZenFocus was quoted stating, “We worked very hard to build a product which is highly affordable for our customers. However, we did not want to compromise on the quality and did not add any unnecessary features which may not be needed.  This will start a revolution in India as we plan to come out with strong promotions on this tablet.”

myZenTAB 708B Key Specifications

Display & Dimensions: myZenTAB 708B measures 193 x 121 x 8.5 mm in dimensions and packs a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen display with 5 point multi-touch and 800 x 480 pixel resolution.

Processor: myZenTAB 708B is powered by a Boxchip A13 chipset with 1GHz to 1.2GHz speed and Mali-400 GPU. The Boxchip chipset is based on ARM Cortex A8 processor and it quite inexpensive thereby helping manufacturers in controlling the cost of the products.

OS: Being a budget tablet, myZenTAB 708B comes flavored with Android 4.0.3 ICS platform, likewise the other tablet offerings in the market.

Camera: In terms of camera optics, the tablet has a 0.3MP VGA front camera for video calling and lacks a rear camera of better resolution.

Storage: When it comes to storage, the tablet has 4GB internal Nano Flash storage and 512MB RAM. The tablet also has an external micro SD card slot for additional storage up to 32GB.

Connectivity: The tablet supports 3G through USB dongle, OTG, Wi-Fi and micro USB 2.0 connectivity features.

Battery: myZenTAB 708B is loaded with a 2,350 mAh battery delivering up to 4.5 hours backup.

Price & Availability

ZenFocus myZEnTAB 708B holds an official market price of Rs 6,999, however, online retailer Snapdeal.com has listed the device at Rs 5,999 as a festive promotional offer.

Pantel Technologies in association with BSNL recently launched India’s first 2G SIM Slot Tablet PC — Penta T-Pad WS703C. Talking about specs, Penta T-Pad WS703C comes with TF card expansion slot, voice call feature, 7 inch 3D enabled capacitive touch screen, front and rear cameras, HDMI ports, an extra long battery life, 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor, inbuilt 2G SIM slot and also 3G Dongle compatibility.

The Pantel tablet is priced at Rs 6,999 and has voice calling feature as compared to the ZenFocus tablet at the same price tag.

Analyzing the specs and price of myZenTAB 708B, it is clear that the new tablet is not much different from any other budget ICS tablet offering prevailing in the market, however, the tablet is surely offering all the features at the lowest price possible compared to others in the Indian low priced tablet arena.
