JSW MG Motor India Unveils eHUB for Seamless EV Charging and Jio Partnership for Vehicle Connectivity

JSW MG Motor India, a joint venture between SAIC Motor and JSW Group, is making a big push in the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market. At a recent event called DriEV.Bharat, the company unveiled a suite of innovations aimed at streamlining the EV ownership experience and fostering EV adoption in India.

Simplifying Charging with eHUB

One of the biggest concerns for potential EV buyers is charging infrastructure. JSW MG Motor India is addressing this with their new app, eHUB by MG. This one-stop shop for EV charging in India allows users to locate, reserve, and pay for charging stations across the country.

JSW MG Motor India Launches eHUB Charging App, Partners with Jio

The app boasts partnerships with major charging networks like Adani Total Energies Limited (ATEL), BPCL, and Jio-BP, with more to come soon. Additionally, eHUB offers trip-planning features and is available in 11 languages, making it accessible to a wider audience.

Second Life for EV Batteries with Project REVIVE

JSW MG Motor India is taking a sustainable approach to battery life cycles with Project REVIVE. This initiative, partnered with TERI and Lohum, focuses on repurposing used EV batteries for secondary applications.

These batteries, still holding significant capacity, can be used to power institutions like schools and community centers. A pilot project at a school in Mukteshwar demonstrates the potential of Project REVIVE in promoting green energy solutions.

EV Education Platform: EVPEDIA Empowers Drivers

JSW MG Motor India understands that education is key to driving EV adoption. Their EVPEDIA platform serves as a comprehensive resource for all things EV. Users can access information on topics like EV ownership costs, government policies, and technical details through interactive displays, educational videos, and live demonstrations. EVPEDIA even features eVir, an AI chatbot, to answer EV-related questions on the go.

Enhanced In-Car Connectivity with MG-Jio ICP

JSW MG Motor India has partnered with Reliance Jio to develop the MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (MG-Jio ICP). This in-car technology stack is designed to elevate the driving experience. MG Store, an app store housed within the platform, allows users to download in-car games, entertainment apps, and learning tools. MG-Jio ICP also features voice commands in six Indian languages, promoting inclusivity.

Notably, the Home-to-Car functionality enables users to remotely control vehicle functions like locking/unlocking doors, adjusting cabin temperature, and monitoring fuel levels (for plug-in hybrids). MG-Jio ICP will be a standard feature across all upcoming MG vehicles in India.
