Vivo V70 vs OPPO Reno15: Which Compact Phone Should You Consider in 2026?

Vivo has just launched the Vivo V70 in India, succeeding last year's V60 model. However, this time, the brand brings a new camera design, while the processor and battery remain the same as the predecessor. Even the company continues its partnership with ZEISS for optics. With this price tag, it will be interesting to see how the phone competes with other alternatives in the market.

Among the alternatives, one option is the OPPO Reno15, which shares the same price and an identical camera design along with several common specifications. So, let's take a look at our detailed comparison of the Vivo V70 and the OPPO Reno15 to see which one you should consider in 2026.

However, the Vivo V70 is claimed to have the segment's narrowest bezels and measures 7.59 mm and weighs 194 grams, making it slightly lighter compared to the Reno15, which measures 7.8 mm and weighs 197 grams.

Vivo V70 vs OPPO Reno15: Which Compact Phone Should You Consider?

The key highlight of the Reno15 is its Aerospace-Grade Aluminium Frame and HoloFusion Technology, which is an advanced nano-engraving process that sculpts thousands of micro-curved structures into the glass, transforming every movement into shifting light.

Additionally, both smartphones come with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. For display, both phones feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. However, the Vivo V70 pulls ahead of the Reno15 in terms of peak brightness. The V70 offers up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness, ensuring excellent outdoor visibility, whereas the Reno15 supports up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness.

Under the hood, both devices are powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. However, the OPPO Reno15 offers up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. In comparison, the Vivo V70 comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of faster UFS 4.1 storage.

While performance is not really an issue here, as the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 can handle gaming and day-to-day usage smoothly. But you can find the same processor in more affordable phones like the Moto Edge 70 and the Realme 15 Pro.

In terms of battery, they pack a 6,500mAh battery; however, the V70 supports slightly faster 90W wired charging. On the other side, the Reno15 offers 80W wired charging. On the software front, the OPPO Reno15 runs on ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 and promises five years of major Android updates along with six years of security patches.

In comparison, the Vivo V70 runs on OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and offers four years of major Android updates and six years of security updates. So, the Vivo V70 has an edge in charging speed, whereas the Reno15 provides longer OS update support.

Vivo V70 vs OPPO Reno15: Which Compact Phone Should You Consider?

For optics, both phones have a triple rear camera setup with support for up to 4K 60fps video recording. The V70 includes a 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom. For selfies, it offers a 50MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

Vivo V70 vs OPPO Reno15: Which One Should You Buy in 2026?

For people looking for a more compact phone with a ZEISS-backed camera system and AI features, the Vivo V70 could be worth considering. On the other hand, the Reno15 also stands out with its unique design, longer-term software update support, and more storage options, and you do not need to compromise on camera features either. However, if you prioritise a brighter display and a lightweight option, the Vivo V70 has the advantage.

While they offer a premium design, powerful camera features, a compact form factor, and a bunch of AI features, both use the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, which you can find in more affordable mid-range phones. So, the choice depends on you, whether you prefer a compact design, a brighter display, and impressive telephoto performance on the Vivo V70, or better AI portrait features, an eye-catching design, and more storage flexibility with the Reno15.
