Google's First Item Tracker Is Official: Pixel Tag Brings UWB Precision Finding to Android at Rs 3,799

After years of leaving Android users to buy trackers from third-party manufacturers, Google has built one itself. The Pixel Tag was announced alongside the Pixel 11 series and the Pixel Watch 5, and it plugs directly into Find Hub, the network Google says runs across more than a billion Android devices. The Google Store India listing has it down as coming in November 2026, sold as a single unit or in a four-pack.

Pricing in India is Rs 3,799 for a single tag and Rs 12,900 for the four-pack, which works out to Rs 3,225 per tag if you buy the set.

Google Pixel Tag Specifications

Google has not gone with the round puck shape everyone else uses. The Pixel Tag is an oblong pebble measuring 28mm by 46.1mm and just 5.4mm thick, weighing 11.8g with the battery in. The body mixes polycarbonate and metal, and it comes in a single colour called Fog. Google is pitching the flat profile as something you can drop into a wallet without it bulging.

Tracking runs on two radios. Ultra-Wideband handles Precision Finding, so once you are in the same room the phone gives you directional guidance down to the metre rather than just a rough circle on a map. Bluetooth Channel Sounding backs it up for distance estimation. Outside of that range, Find Hub falls back on the crowdsourced Android network to place the tag on a map even when it is in another city.

Setup goes through Fast Pair, and the tag works in both directions. You can ring the tag from your phone, from a Pixel Watch, or by asking Gemini through your Pixel Buds, and pressing the button on the tag itself rings your phone back even when the phone is on silent. Sharing is built in, with a single tag shareable with up to 10 people, which is useful for car keys or luggage that more than one person handles.

The tag is rated IP67, so it survives a metre of water for half an hour along with everyday dust and splashes. Power comes from a user-replaceable CR2032 coin cell that Google rates for over a year, and there is an accelerometer and a built-in speaker inside. It pairs with Android phones running Android 9 or later, and Google ships it with a one-year warranty.

On privacy, Google says location data on the Find Hub network is encrypted and not stored, and Android will alert you if an unfamiliar tag appears to be traveling with you, which is the anti-stalking measure that has become standard on trackers since the AirTag's early problems.

Google Pixel Tag Price in India and Availability

Buying the four-pack saves you roughly Rs 574 on each tag, which is the usual nudge towards tagging more than one thing. The Google Store India page lists the Pixel Tag as arriving in November 2026, which puts India roughly in line with the November 11 release in the United States rather than months behind it. That has not always been the case with Google's smaller hardware, and there is no pre-order live yet.
