The JioTag 2 is priced at Rs. 1,249 in India. It is available in Black, Green, and Red colour options and can be purchased via Amazon India.
JioTag 2 Specifications, Features
The biggest upgrade on the JioTag 2 is its cross-platform compatibility. It works seamlessly with Google Find Hub on Android smartphones and Apple Find My on iPhones and iPads, allowing users to locate tagged belongings using their device's native tracking service.
The tracker connects using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and features a 120dB built-in buzzer, which can be triggered through the Google Find Hub or Apple Find My app to quickly locate nearby items.
When the tagged item moves beyond Bluetooth range, the JioTag 2 leverages the Google Find Hub and Apple Find My community networks. Nearby compatible Android and iOS devices can anonymously detect the tracker and securely update its location, enabling users to find misplaced belongings even across cities or countries. The device also supports Lost Mode to improve the chances of recovering missing items.
Unlike GPS trackers, the JioTag 2 does not require a SIM card, cellular connectivity, or a monthly subscription. Instead, it relies on community-powered location updates to provide semi-real-time tracking.
Powering the device is a replaceable battery that is claimed to last up to one year. Jio also bundles an extra battery in the retail package, eliminating the need to recharge the tracker during regular use.
The JioTag 2 features an IP64-rated body for dust and splash resistance. It is built using polycarbonate and includes an integrated mounting hole, making it easy to attach to keychains, bags, luggage, or other valuables. The tracker measures 101 x 62 x 17mm and weighs 30g.
With support for both Google's and Apple's location networks, the JioTag 2 offers a more versatile tracking experience than its predecessor, making it a practical option for users with Android or iOS devices.
